The LS950AHS is a professional bi-amplified horn-loaded subwoofer designed and manufactured entirely in Italy by Amplificazioni Lombardi, conceived as a complete and intelligent system capable of managing both low and high frequencies within a single unit.
It belongs to the same horn-loaded family as LS950P, LS2500P and LS5000P, sharing the same design philosophy: achieving high efficiency, precision and real acoustic performance, rather than relying on nominal power values.
Unlike a traditional active subwoofer, the LS950AHS is designed as a control center for compact audio systems, capable of driving both subwoofer and satellite speakers, allowing the creation of complete and modular systems with a single device.

– LVR600BP
– or 2 × LVR400HP
• Sub configuration (low-pass output)
to drive an additional passive subwoofer LS950P

Analog signal control technology
The LS950AHS integrates a fully analog signal management system designed to ensure maximum sound quality, protection and real control of the system.
Dual optical analog limiter
The system features two independent optical limiters, a refined and uncommon solution in the professional audio field:
• Input limiter
acts directly on the incoming signal, preventing distortion in case of excessive input levels.
The signal is managed and leveled in a completely analog way, improving sound quality even with imperfect sources.
• Output limiter (power stage)
operates directly on the amplifier stage, maintaining the system at its maximum working level (0 dB of the amplifier) without introducing distortion.
Thanks to the use of an optical photocoupler, the output level remains stable even when the volume is increased, minimizing the risk of damage.
This approach ensures real signal control and effective protection without sound degradation, maintaining the dynamics, naturalness and musicality typical of Lombardi analog systems.
Flexible signal management
The integrated amplifier allows highly flexible signal routing:
• operation in mono (input A)
• or in stereo (inputs A + B)
• selectable via a toggle switch
This enables fast adaptation to different system configurations.
Dual configuration of the amplified output
The second power channel can be configured in two operating modes:
• High-pass mode (Top)
used to drive satellite speakers using the signal from input A
• Low-pass mode (Sub)
used to drive an additional passive subwoofer LS950P
In this configuration, the system can operate in:
• mono
• or stereo, using input B
This makes the LS950AHS a highly versatile and modular system core.
Analog equalization
The preamplifier stage includes a fully analog equalization circuit, designed to optimize the performance of the subwoofer.
